About Us
Jeff Moates is the owner of Buttonwood Archaeology and a Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA) who meets the Secretary of Interior standards for archaeology (SOI-qualified archaeologist). He brings over 20 years of archaeology experience working in Florida where he has been a successful contract and project manager. Jeff has served in various roles providing him with a wide range of experiences and clients. He has worked as an archaeologist and in related capacities for state and local governments, as a private consultant, and in the state university system. Jeff is an accomplished public speaker and excellent science communicator publishing articles in scholarly and public spheres.
